You Will Be Responsible For:
Attends growth meetings and presents data as needed
Provides monthly patient tracking for Director of Service line development and Director of OR for each bariatric surgeon to include but not limited to:
Number of patients in pipeline
Number of seminars & webinar attendees including competition
List of patient eligible for surgery at AHC and tracking of those patients through surgery. Patients who drop off the surgical track must have a noted reason and follow up with surgeons' office.
Patient follow up from in person or online seminar inquiries within 24 hours
Responds to phone calls within 24 hours
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) speaking RN
Knowledge of marketing, business development
Working in conjunction with Director of Service Line Development and physician relations help to grow bariatric volume to include CME dinners and meeting with potential referral sources ie: PCP, Cardiology, GI, Ortho/Spine quarterly
Tours patients, families, and/or significant others through the facility and care areas. Provides information on the service and amenities of the AdventHealth Carrollwood.

Maintains working knowledge of AdventHealth Carrollwood programs offered to bariatric patients and their families. Offering our resources, educating patient about programs, assisting with appointments and scheduling for programs such as: Education, Nutrition, Support Group, etc.
Acts as a liaison between the hospital and patients, physician office staff, patient's families and/or significant others by rounding daily to determine the customer's need and satisfaction with services provided. Assists in obtaining needed services. Reports patient, family, and/or significant other concerns to team members, birth advocate, supervisor, and/or Nurse Manager as indicated for resolution. Actively works on issues that can be resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Triages telephone calls and provides requested information to potential customers in the community.
Compiles education material for patient education packets, monitors supply usage and maintains availability of supplies as indicated. Supplies physician offices with materials as requested.
What You Will Need:
Demonstrates ability to communicate professionally in English and Spanish languages: verbally with a pleasant speaking voice and in the written language
Demonstrates strong organizational skills
Skilled in providing appropriate education and program development.
Skilled in communications with multidisciplinary teams, patients, families and surgical teams.
Skilled in program development.
Experienced in community education & public speaking.
Expert in resolving issues and enhancing patient education.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
3-5 or more years of experience in inpatient nursing
Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
The overall goal of the Bariatric Nurse Navigator is to support our community in navigating AdventHealth Carrollwood's' services. The Nurse Navigator serves as a community resource for assuring patients have appropriate and timely medical care and supportive services on an ongoing basis. The Nurse navigator ensures patients are effectively and efficiently navigated through the health care system receiving appropriate referrals, support and educational services through their journey. The focus is on nursing and patient education ensuring evidence based practice standards are implemented and result in excellent patient outcomes. In addition, this position supports the development of congregational health, community outreach and marketing programs for the hospital. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
