Baylor Scott & White Health seeks outstanding candidates for Regional Director of Cardiovascular Services for the Greater Austin Region. The division offers a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program with the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, with leading experts in the specialty areas of Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Advanced Heart Failure, Non-Invasive/ Advanced Imaging’, CT Surgery and Critical Cardiac Care.
Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, energetic, forward-thinking Cardiologist to lead the growth of the Greater Austin Region Cardiovascular Services line. The Regional Director of Cardiovascular Services will provide leadership, medical supervision, and management for all cardiology subspecialties and thirteen locations of the Division of Cardiology/Cardiothoracic Surgery. Reporting to the Regional Associate CMO Specialty, this role will provide patient care (40%) in a subspecialty of cardiology and act as the medical administrative leader (60%) to work cooperatively with associate CMOs, division directors of medicine and surgery, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery section chiefs and all medical staff in the clinics and hospitals. This role will expand the national visibility and prestige of the division, which is poised for significant growth in all areas.
Qualifications
M.D., D.O., or equivalent medical degree.
Texas license, DEA and DPS required by start date.
Clinical background in either general cardiology or a cardiology subspecialty, with an exemplary clinical track record.
Fellowship trained ABIM Board Certification in Cardiology (plus BC Cardiology subspecialty if additional fellowship training)
Clinical and medical physician leadership experience working within a cardiovascular service line is highly desirable with a preference of a minimum of 5 years.
Strong interpersonal skills and in good standing within the medical community.
Strong understanding of cardiology service line financials, marketing, and strategic operations.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, clinicians, staff, dyad operations partner, and the public.
